NOPs Group

NCA provides a weekly Non Offending Parent (NOPs) Group during the Davidson County school year. The function of NCA’s NOPs group is to enhance the support of the caregivers and families we serve. We offer NOPs group in both Spanish and English.

THE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF NCA’S NOP GROUP ARE:

To empower non-offending caregivers (English and Spanish speaking) with information, heightened awareness, and skills for decreasing the risk of future abuse

To increase the non-offending caregiver’s ability to support the child victim and to effectively help their children heal from abuse.

To provide non-offending caregivers, with children who have been sexually abused, with the opportunity to attend Non-Offending Parent Support (NOPs) groups, and receive on-going support and education about child sexual abuse.

To provide Non-offending caregivers, attending the NOPs groups, with free child care for their children in order to make the groups more accessible.

To increase the non-offending caregiver’s daily functioning in the environment.

To provide non-offending caregivers, with children who have been sexually abused, with the opportunity to attend Non-Offending Parent Support (NOPs) groups, support throughout the investigative/court process and receive on-going support and education about child sexual abuse.

To provide Non-offending caregivers, attending the NOPs groups, with free child care for their children in order to make the groups more accessible.

To aid families in crisis in accessing community resources as necessary including filing for victim’s compensation.

To provide families with referrals for needed community resources as necessary.

​For Non-Offending Caregivers who can benefit from individual therapy NCA refers those caregivers to alternate adult individual therapeutic services outside NCA. For information, please contact Moyra Meza at (615) 327-9958, ext. 2015
